Alpha Legend Secure+ Programmer

To program, first install the “SETUP_Alpha_Series_PPS_xxxxx.exe” file on your computer and double-click the Alpha Series icon to run the program. Once the programming interface appears, click the “Setup” menu item at the top of the program and select “Communication Setup”. Select an available port from the “Comm Port Settings” tab and click “Apply” to configure the serial communication.

For programming nest setup, connect the DB9 end of the serial cable to the nest and the USB end to the computer. Add power with the 5VDC adapter.

To read or program the pager, the Alpha Legend Secure+ needs to have a battery installed and the pager turned on. Place the pager into the programming nest, aligning the two programming pins with the two holes on the pager located near the battery lock latch. Hold the pager in place by moving the nest’s locking arm across the body of the Legend Secure+.

Popup warnings may appear if the setup is not configured correctly. Some things to check include the COM Port setting, the interface cable connected securely, and that the pager is an Alpha Secure Legend+. Other possible issues could be the pager does not have a battery inserted and is not powered on, or the programming pins are not making good contact and/or may be broken.
